Born in 1963, Ankara, Dr. Mehmet Çağrı Bağatur graduated from Tarsus American College in 1981 and Ankara University – Faculty of Law in 1985, and received a PhD from Çukurova University – Faculty of Agriculture in the field of Agricultural Economics in 1999.
He is the founding partner of Bağatur Law Office and BAB Strategy and Business Development Consulting Inc. Being an insurance arbitrator at the Insurance Arbitral Commission, Mehmet Çağrı Bağatur also continues his work as an official mediator since 2015 in this emerging field of law.
Dr. Bağatur’s areas of expertise are law (contracts, arbitration, insurance, advertising, mergers and acquisitions, hospital management, privatization, competition, foreign investment, administrative law, bankruptcy), knowledge management (non-governmental organizations, sales security) and total quality management. He has given post-graduate lectures at Kültür University – Faculty of Design on the subject of “Advertising Law and Deceptive Advertisements”.
As the legal advisor to Buğday Association for Supporting Ecological Living, Dr. Bağatur contributed to numerous projects within the body of EU, UNDP, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and various municipalities as of 1999. In addition, he gave more than 40 occupational and non-occupational trainings to NGOs and other organizations. He published many articles on environmental, insurance and agriculture law in Turkish Bar Association’s monthly publication.
Bağatur Law Office was the first law office to join the National Quality Movement in Turkey and Europe, and received the ‘EFQM Committed to Excellence’ award in 2007 and the ‘EFQM Competency in Excellence’ award in 2008.
Dr. Bağatur is a member of the Istanbul Bar Association, International Association of Lawyers, Pangea-Net, Entrepreneurs’ Organisation, Kalder, TEID, Buğday Association for Supporting Ecological Living, Rotary Club, Junior Chamber International, Kereitsu Forum, the Association of Maharishi Common Field Technologie and Tarsus American College Alumni Association. He is married to Att. Jülüde Işıl Bağatur, and is the father of 3 children.
