Ali is a leading economist specialized in competition economics, regulated markets and government affairs. He has great knowledge in these areas, thanks to his previous experience in automotive, cement, FMCG, tobacco, alcoholic beverages, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications industries. He provides economic assessment and counselling for clients seeking assistance in regulated sectors and governmental affairs.

Prior to joining PwC, Ali worked as a Counsel at DENTONS, an international law firm, where he led a number of Phase II merger applications, cartel investigations and dominance cases along with compliance programs in various industries. Earlier, he had been an equity partner at ACTECON, a boutique firm on competition, regulation and government relations. Last but not least, he started his professional career at the Turkish Competition Authority, where he worked as a case handler for seven years.

Aside of his professional experience, Ali works as a lecturer at Istanbul Kemerburgaz University, teaching Competition Law. Previously, he assumed a similar position at Istanbul Bilgi University for three years, offering courses on Pharmaceutical Law. Additionally, he had columns in Forbes and Infomag magazines, where he wrote periodically on Law & Economics topics.

Ali holds his B.A. degree in Economics from the Political Sciences Faculty of Ankara University and his M.A. degree on Economic Policy from the Boston University in Massachusetts.
